Peer Review Process
Revista Matronería Actual is a peer-reviewed journal. Peer-review is defined as obtaining advice on individual manuscripts from expert reviewers in the field. Each article is assigned by the Editor-in-Chief to the competent area editor. The latter will choose two external peers, who will provide a double-blind report of the work (i.e., peer reviewers will not know the author's information, and vice versa). On this basis, the section editor will make the final decision on publication. An editorial decision on each article will be attempted within 16 weeks since submission, extendable if necessary.
Frequency of Publication
We are a continuous publication scientific journal, meaning that the article is published as soon as it is ready to be included. In other words, each article is published individually immediately after being approved by the respective section editor. Likewise, an annual compilation issue of all published articles during the year is also released.
Open Access Policy
The journal Matronería Actual is open access, adhering to the diamond route model, which ensures that its content and published articles are available without financial restrictions. Additionally, no fees are charged to authors at any stage of the editorial and publication process.
Open access allows readers to download, read, or link to the full texts without requiring permission from the publisher or author(s). These and other terms are established in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative Declaration (BOAI, 2002).
As stated above, the journal Matronería Actual permits and encourages researchers to use self-archiving platforms and to promote the use of open access journals.
