Abstract
Problem: Infertility in women of reproductive age is a psychological and emotional challenge that is devastating, independent of medical prognosis.
Objective: To determine the psychoemotional impact on women of reproductive age diagnosed with infertility worldwide between 2013-2023.
Methodology: This study used a qualitative methodology in which a scoping review was used as a strategy in which 6 databases were used (WOS, PubMed, Pubpsychology, EbscoHost, Psyke, and Dialnet).
Results: The studies reviewed show that women diagnosed with infertility, mainly between 28 and 40 years of age, present high levels of anxiety and depression, with variability in intensity. In addition, the quality of the couple's bond plays a crucial role in emotional well-being, being a protective factor in some contexts.
Conclusions: The research reveals that infertility has a profound psychoemotional impact on women, generating anxiety, depression and affecting couple relationships, underscoring the need for psychological and social interventions. It also highlights the lack of studies in Latin America and the importance of considering cultural and socioeconomic factors in order to offer comprehensive support.
