Peer Review Process+

Revista Matronería Actual is a peer-reviewed journal. Peer review is defined as obtaining advice on individual manuscripts from expert reviewers in the field.

Each manuscript is assigned by the Editor-in-Chief to the competent Area Editor. The latter will select two external peers, who will provide a double-blind review report of the work (meaning that reviewers do not know the authors' identities, and vice versa). Based on these reports, the Area Editor will make the final decision regarding publication.

⏱ Estimated timeline: The journal aims to reach an editorial decision on each manuscript within 16 weeks, which may be extended if necessary.
Publication Frequency+

We are a continuous-publication scientific journal; articles are published individually as soon as they are ready to be included in the journal, immediately after approval by the respective Area Editor. Additionally, an annual compilation volume of all articles published during the year is released.

Open Access Policy+

Revista Matronería Actual is an Open Access journal adhering to the Diamond Open Access model. This ensures that all published content and articles are available without financial restrictions; likewise, no charges are applied to authors at any stage of the editorial and publication process.

Open access allows readers to download, read, or link to the full texts of articles without seeking prior permission from the publisher or the author(s). These and other terms are established in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI, 2002).

The journal permits and encourages researchers to use self-archiving platforms and to promote the use of Open Access journals.
